Abstract

This academic article is intended to study the social and political philosophy of Han Fei Tzu. The study found that: Coexistence in human society must be organized and governed by law as a basis. Because the original nature of man is evil. Therefore, it is necessary to use law or power as a control tool cannot rely only on morals or customs to control. The Chinese philosopher of the Legalism is Han Fei Tzu saw that law was the most important thing. Only the law will strengthen the country. And bring peace to the country and he suggested that the subject that should be applied to the society of his time was 1) Shih or power can manipulate things. Power makes people fear and no one dares to disobey 2) Shu or the art of government Parents are indispensable. Because art is a method that parents must use as a tool for governing. to make those in command obey and act with joy 3) Fa or the law clearly defines you and the penalty. The law will be the norm of governing the country. The importance of Han Fei Tzu social and political philosophy was that he wanted his citizens to be happy. Orderly society the country is stable and prosperous. To achieve such goals the state must take the following actions 1) To appoint the leaders of the state to have absolute power to rule; has a duty to legislate 2) Leaders in every position must have powers and duties within themselves 3) Use the law as a tool to govern the country 4) Campaign for citizens to be agricultural and military because agriculture can earn money into the state make the country wealthy. The military stabilizes the country from being invaded. Both types of people are therefore regarded as important forces of the nation.
