Development Books Supplementary Encouraging Reading in the Social Studies, Religion and Learning Cluster on Buddhism Subject ?Twelve Traditions? of the Lower Secondary School

Abstract

Objectives of this Dissertation were four folds as follow, (1) to develop supplementary books encouragesins reading in the social studies, religion and culture learning cluster on Buddhism subject ?twelve Traditions? of the Lower 1 secondary school an efficiency at 80/80. (2) To find out the effectiveness of learning from the book. (3) To compare the achievement of students. (4) To study the satisfaction of students to the book encourages reading. (5) To study the attitude of the first secondary students to the book encourages reading in the social study, religion and culture learning groups on Buddhism subject ?twelve Heet?. The samples of this research were 20 students in first class at district school 1 Sawangwittaya, Muang district, Nongkhai Province. It was research and development. The research instrument collecting data are the book encourages reading, learning plan, achievement test, satisfaction questionnaire, and attitude questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation. Statistical hypothesis testing is to determine the efficiency of the book encourages reading by the efficiency of results / ?criteria of 80/80, to analyze the effectiveness index of the books encourages reading by mean of Goodman and Schneider and Dependent Sample t-test.

May founding;

1. The scores of students from assessments during the course of all 12 Plans are equal to 98.20 of the full score of 120 (81.83 percent) and the average of the test after learning the value of 32.05 out of full 40, (80.13 percent). So, book encourages reading in the social study, religion and culture learning groups on Buddhism subject ?twelve Heet? of the first secondary level has the efficiency equal 81.83/80.13, which meets the criteria of 80/80.

2. The Effectiveness index (E.I) of learning with a book encourages reading in the social study, religion and culture learning groups on Buddhism subject ?twelve Heet? of the first secondary level an efficiency at value to 0.533724, indicated that students have more knowledge before learning (53.37 percent).

3. The first secondary students who learnt with books encourages reading in the social study, religion and culture learning groups on Buddhism subject ?twelve Heet? have the more achievement posttest than pretest statistically significant at the .05 level.

4. The first secondary students who learnt with books encourages reading have the satisfaction at high level (Mean = 4.44).

5. The first secondary students who learnt with books encourages reading have the attitude at high level (Mean = 4.43).
