Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the need of discipline of lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province, 2) to study the methods for promoting of discipline based on Kalyanamittadhamma principles for lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province, and 3) to propose guidelines for promoting of discipline based on Kalyanamittadhamma principles for lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province. The mixed research methods were used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 265 samples and analyzed by mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews with 5 experts and then analyzed by content analysis.

????????? The results of the study found that: 1. The need of discipline of lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province in descending order starts from determination (PNI modified =0.075), followed by to follow the rules and regulations (PNI modified=0.075), energetic effort (PNI modified=0.073), perseverance (PNI modified=0.067), responsibility (PNI modified=0.064), and self-confidence (PNI modified=0.066) respectively. 2. The methods for promoting of discipline based on Kalyanamittadhamma principles for lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province are to apply the principle of Bhavaniyo to determination in learning and doing assignment, to apply the principle of Piyo to self-behaving in accordance with social rules and regulations for the benefits of society, to apply the principle of Bhavaniyo to energetic effort in order to train and improve themselves, and to apply the principle of Vacanakkhamo to perseverance in listening to recommendations and suggestions. 3. The guidelines for promoting of discipline based on Kalyanamit-tadhamma principles for lower secondary students of Thammasat School Khlong Luang Wittayakhom in Pathum Thani province are to apply Bhavaniyo to determination, Vatta to self-behaving, Vacanakkhamo to energetic effort and perseverance, and Gaur to responsibility.
