Abstract

The purpose of this academic article is to study the history of the Supuppannah Sutta, The power of the Buddhist mantra in the Supuppannah Sutta, the Principles of Buddhist philosophy that appear in the Supuppannah Sutta and The Study of Auspicious Times appear in the Supuppannah Sutta. In summary, the adherence to auspicious times is vital for villagers who have yet to fully grasp the teachings of the Buddha. Often, they follow these times without much questioning, lacking confidence in the principles of karma outlined in Buddhism. Breaking away from such beliefs proves difficult. Buddhism, on the other hand, prioritizes the importance of actions. It asserts that any time when good deeds are enacted is deemed auspicious, leading to good fortune and happiness. However, these actions must be guided by wisdom.
